Engineered Rigging Expands Rental Fleet with New Enerpac JS250 Jack-Up System

VALAPRAISO, IND., May 20, 2025 – Engineered Rigging, a leader in heavy lifting and specialized transport equipment rental, sales and service, has expanded its rental fleet with the acquisition of a new Enerpac JS250 Jack-Up System. This state-of-the-art technology is a multi-point, fully automated, synchronous system that can lift, lower and hold loads up to 1,100 tons while optimizing safety and efficiency.

“Engineered Rigging continually invests in cutting-edge technology to provide our clients with the most effective and reliable solutions on the market, enabling their teams to self-perform heavy lifting operations. Adding the Enerpac JS250 Jack-Up System to our fleet has expanded the scope of projects we can support,” said Mike Beres, vice president of Engineered Rigging.

The JS250 bare rental is backed by Engineered Rigging’s Safety & Performance Rental Guarantee, which ensures a best-in-class solution is fully operational and ready for delivery whenever and wherever needed. In addition to properly storing and maintaining its rental fleet, Engineered Rigging cleans, inspects and tests each rental before shipment. Engineered Rigging

also provides expert technical support, ensuring clients have access to the knowledge required to operate the equipment safely and efficiently.

“Engineered Rigging’s bare rental program delivers peace of mind to our customers,” added Beres.

Key Features of the JS250

Each jack-up unit has a lifting capacity of 275 tons and lifts from a starting height of under 5 feet (1.475m) to almost 33 feet (10m). As the hydraulic system incrementally lifts the load, the mechanical barrels are slid into the stack and used to hold the load. Several attributes distinguish the JS250 from other alternative lifting equipment:

  • Computer controlled system with single operator control optimizing lifting safety and repeatability.
  • Self-contained hydraulics in each jack-up unit resulting in optimal control and uncluttered worksite
  • Adjustable locking top barrel minimizes setup time by allowing precise system height adjustment.
  • Compact footprint enables lifting operations when space is limited.
  • Incremental lifting allows mechanical lockout at 19.7 in. (500mm) intervals during the lifting cycle.
  • Maximum controlled lifting speed of 13 ft. (4m) per hour.

How the Jack-Up System Works

A typical setup for a jack-up system includes four units—one positioned under each corner of a load. Barrels are slid into the system to form “lifting towers” and automated computer controls are used to elevate the load to the desired height. The load can be held in place mechanically by the jack-up system or lowered as required by removing barrels. A video of an Enerpac Jack-Up System functionality is available here.

Popular Strand Jack Applications

The powerful, compact footprint and ease of use of the JS250 makes it an ideal solution for projects of all sizes and complexities including bridge construction and maintenance, modular construction, industrial maintenance, machinery moves, the lifting lowering and leveling of heavy structures and buildings, and load transfers from temporary steel work.

Live Demonstrations
